Welcome to Mallee Hearth. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and the services we provide, including bespoke furniture design, manufacturing, upholstery, custom joinery, retail, and workshops. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Services Offered
Mallee Hearth offers a range of services tailored to your home furnishing needs:
- Bespoke Timber Furniture: Custom design and handcrafted furniture using natural timber.
- Upholstery Services: Reupholstering and repair for existing furniture, available upon consultation.
- Custom Joinery Solutions: Built-in cabinetry, shelving, and other custom timber installations.
- Retail of Curated Home Decor: A selection of high-quality, complementary home decor items.
- Furniture Restoration Workshops: Educational workshops on furniture care, restoration, and basic woodworking.
3. Orders and Payments
For custom orders (bespoke furniture, joinery, upholstery), a detailed quote will be provided. A deposit, typically 50% of the total cost, is required before commencement of work. The remaining balance is due upon completion and before delivery or collection. All prices are in AUD and include GST where applicable.
- Custom Order Process: Initial consultation → Design & Quote → Deposit (50%) → Manufacturing → Final Payment → Delivery/Collection.
- Workshops: Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
- Retail Items: Full payment is required at the point of sale.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
Due to the custom nature of our products:
- Custom Orders: Deposits for custom furniture and joinery are non-refundable once design work or material procurement has begun. Cancellations before this stage may be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
- Workshops: Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to the workshop date will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable but may be transferable to another date or participant at our discretion.
- Retail Items: Standard return policies apply for unused and undamaged retail items within 14 days of purchase, with proof of purchase.
5. Intellectual Property
All designs, plans, photographs, and content on this website are the intellectual property of Mallee Hearth and are protected by copyright laws. Unauthorized reproduction or use is strictly prohibited. Custom designs created for clients remain the intellectual property of Mallee Hearth, though the client owns the physical furniture.
6. Limitation of Liability
Mallee Hearth takes every care to ensure the quality and durability of our products. However, we are not liable for damages arising from misuse, improper care, or normal wear and tear. Our liability for any defect or damage related to our products or services shall be limited to the cost of repair or replacement of the product, or re-performance of the service.
7. Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. Please refer to our separate Privacy Policy for information on how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.

Mallee Hearth reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. The most current version will always be posted on our website. Your continued use of our website and services signifies your acceptance of any revisions.
